00:17 paulproteus ajonas, maggie_s: I'm... getting somewhere with this, slowly, I think.
00:17 ajonas paulproteus: :/
00:17 paulproteus That's a good thing, actually!
00:17 ajonas whoa that was not my intended emoticon
00:17 cool
00:17 paulproteus (-:
00:20 I have to head out for a bit, but ... maybe I'm making progress on this.
00:20 Anyway, ajonas -- if we disable the thumbnails, we can make it work lickety-split.
00:20 And we're probably doing something slightly wrong with the thumbnail setup.
00:20 ajonas paulproteus: disable thumbnails? all the thumbnails?
00:20 paulproteus (which has to do with the playlist feature of FlowPlayer, that we might be misusing slightly)
00:21 ajonas: I'm not saying that's an adequate solution (-:

13:13 janetPCF1: i did get the nightly failure email yesterday, but forgot to do anything about it.
13:47 mmm....  drive e: seems dead.  at a minimum, it's not coming up when i boot the system.  i haven't taken the drive out to look at it, yet.
13:48 i think i have some EIDE drives floating around, but first i think i want to try cleaning up drive c: a bit and doing builds there.

15:30 paulproteus Welcome back, all.
15:43 ajonas: I think I fixed http://bugzilla.pculture.org/s[…]_bug.cgi?id=16177 and http://bugzilla.pculture.org/s[…]_bug.cgi?id=16196 just now.
15:43 I'd appreciate it if you'd check. (I tried it out locally on my machine.)
15:43 ajonas paulproteus: neat - *checking now*
15:44 paulproteus: 196 is still a problem (edit links missing for most fields)
15:44 paulproteus Huh, that's a surprise. URL to reproduce?
15:44 ajonas paulproteus: but the fields themselves are back
15:44 http://floyd-dev.mirocommunity[…]grass-jam-session
15:45 paulproteus ajonas: Can you be more specific about what you expect to see? Sorry to be such a dolt here.
15:46 e.g. "Website" should have an edit link?
15:46 * paulproteus looks at the source
15:46 ajonas paulproteus: when logged in, there should be an "Edit" link next to author, date, website, etc.
15:46 paulproteus: as there already is next to title and description
15:46 paulproteus bd
15:46 Looking into it.
15:46 ajonas paulproteus: also category and tags
15:58 paulproteus ajonas: So, these changes are all due to fixing the CSRF protection problem. Try now.
15:58 ajonas paulproteus: looks good, will try out now
15:59 paulproteus: great!
15:59 paulproteus: one slightly weird thing
15:59 paulproteus I had to make some changes to the way inline editing works; they're not super deep, but they're not places that I'm entirely confident about. I'm pretty sure I did the right thing, but it deserves some extra checking.
15:59 * paulproteus listens.
15:59 ajonas probably unrelated
15:59 paulproteus Who knows.
16:00 ajonas http://floyd-dev.mirocommunity[…]8/divine-mind1wmv says 10 months ago
16:00 but the date if you open the field is 2010-02-09
16:00 paulproteus But that's really 1y ago.
16:00 Weird, yeah.
16:00 ajonas yeah
16:00 paulproteus BTW, please make sure that the inline editing doesn't show up when you're not an admin, for example.
16:01 I already tested that, but I want you to give it an extra poke for me.
16:01 ajonas paulproteus: good idea
16:01 paulproteus: nope, all good
16:01 paulproteus Great.
16:01 ajonas paulproteus: do you think the date thing is related?
16:02 paulproteus I don't think it's related, but it's worth finding out what's going on.
16:02 ajonas ok
16:03 paulproteus Yeah, I don't quite know what's going on there, and it's worth filing a bug, but I'll skip it for now if that's okay.
16:05 ajonas paulproteus: sure, i can file one
16:06 paulproteus Thanks. Also, your changes to the email templates look *great*; pushed.
16:07 They make things make ever-so-slightly more sense.
16:07 ajonas :)
16:11 paulproteus: hm, might just be posted vs published
16:12 paulproteus Yeah, that's what I suspected. It's kind of surprising that that'd be what's up, but if so it should definitely be a long-standing bug.
16:12 ajonas paulproteus: i'm not sure it's exactly a bug, then
16:13 paulproteus Well, I'll leave that for you to decide.
16:13 ajonas paulproteus: because should you be able to edit the posted date? maybe... either way i'm less concerned
16:13 * paulproteus nods
16:14 ajonas paulproteus: when you downgrade and get your videos that were over the limit unapproved, then you upgrade, your videos are not automatically re-approved. expected behavior?
16:15 paulproteus Yeah, expected by me, at least.
16:15 ajonas paulproteus: ok
16:19 paulproteus: how hard would it be to change the warning so that they warn you for what opportunities you're losing, instead of just when you're losing something you currently have? (so if i have 995 videos and 2 admins and i downgrade from premium to plus i still get warned about video limit and admins when i downgrade from premium to plus)? i think it should wanr you about these, but i don't think it necessarily needs to hold things up
16:19 could be altered later.
16:24 paulproteus So, personally, I think they can see those options in the UI.
16:24 So I don't see the need to have them be part of the Warnings.
16:25 If you want it that the way you described, it's fine with me, and it's reasonably quick to change for me; file a bug, and I can get to it.
16:25 I actually wrote a bunch of code to detect if you would lose something you're *using*, so basically I have to pull that code out and make sure anything else relying on it is still okay.
16:25 That's where I am.
16:25 ajonas paulproteus: they can always see the options in the UI, but i think the warning page is a way of saying - "did you really want to do that? here's the costs." right now i think with the limited warnings it might be confusing to only see, say, advertising, when they are actually losing more than that.
16:26 paulproteus: i'll file it as a p3 and if you don't get to it, no biggie

18:48 z3p bendk: are you around?
18:48 bendk I'm here
18:49 z3p bendk: so I'm working with InfoList/InfoListModel
18:49 bendk: and I'm wondering if there's a way to get from an info/info.id to an iter
18:50 bendk hmm
18:50 paulproteus ajonas: Can you retry importing a feed into coffee.mirocommunity.org?
18:50 bendk there should be
18:50 ajonas paulproteus: sure, one min
18:50 paulproteus It miiiiight be fixed.
18:50 bendk what do you need it for?
18:51 z3p bendk: working on #15355, and I need an iter so the treeview has something to scroll to
18:51 bendk ahh, give me a few minutes to add that method
18:52 z3p bendk: thanks!
18:52 paulproteus ajonas: Eeek, actually, I might have broken feed importing. )-:

19:57 z3p bendk: great, thanks!
20:51 willkg bendk: you on?
20:51 bendk I'm here
20:51 willkg are there any signals in the current widget implementation for when a widget loses focus?
20:52 i'm not seeing anything.  figured i'd ask before i go implement it for TextEntry.
20:56 bendk: ?
20:57 bendk sorry, I got lost :)
20:57 I don't think there are
20:57 in fact, I know there aren't
20:57 willkg ok.  i'll go implement that, then.
20:58 bendk: what does the 'validate' signal do?
20:58 bendk not entirely sure
20:58 it's probably either called when the user enters a character, or hits enter in the entry
20:58 and somehow it validates the value, but I'm not sure what happens after that
21:00 willkg it kind of looks like 'changed', but i can't tell for sure and it's not documented anywhere.
21:01 it's weird, but it's not related to anything i'm working on now anyhow.

22:18 willkg z3p: given that ben isn't here, i figure i'll ask you my thumbnail question.....
22:19 z3p: gst_extractor extracts a thumbnail from videos, but leaves it at whatever size the video is at.
22:19 z3p: i want to tweak that to reduce the size.  but i'm not entirely sure what to scale it down to.  any idea what size the space for thumbnails is?
22:19 z3p: seems like it's 154x105 and it's in style.py on line 411 and/or 874.  does that sound right?
22:21 z3p: if that's the case, i'm going to scale it down to 200x136 which gives us some breathing space if we want to increase the thumbnail size, but reduces the thumbnail file size significantly.
22:21 oh, bummer....  he's afk.  bah.
22:21 anyone else have thoughts on that?
22:25 nevermind--i'll send an email to the dev list.
