00:10 zanoi bendk, would you like to review the bug 16234 patch before i push it?
00:11 bendk I'd say just push it
00:11 add a note to the bug and I'll review it later
00:13 DGMurdockIII left #miro-hackers
00:15 zanoi bendk, you mean a note that you should review it?
00:15 bendk you don't need to say that, just changes xzy fixes this one
00:15 zanoi ah ok
00:16 also the reason the patch didn't always work for the corner case you described is a different bug
00:16 DGMurdock left #miro-hackers
00:16 zanoi i'll file it in a bit

15:52 ajonas paulproteus: trying to tes tout zillions of videos in review queue on live site problem
15:52 paulproteus Great.
15:52 ajonas paulproteus: let me know if there are other things you need immediate testing for
15:52 paulproteus Not yet.
15:53 I'm transitioning our PayPal use to the thing that you actually like. (-:
15:53 Focusing on that, and totally getting somewhere.
15:53 willkg z3p: did you use --failfast for fixing that import unittest?
15:53 z3p: was it all you hoped for and more?
15:53 z3p willkg: I did, it was glorious
15:54 janetPCF joined #miro-hackers
15:54 willkg :)
15:55 ajonas paulproteus: great, thank you
15:56 paulproteus My pleasure. The old thing was bizarre.
15:56 ajonas paulproteus: what do i clone to make changes to the FAQ page?
15:56 paulproteus That should be in localtv-mainsite
15:57 ajonas paulproteus: ok, thanks
16:12 z3p deardiary: finished up #6985; hunting for other P1 bugs to work on
16:12 willkg z3p: is the standardview item ui overhaul bug sufficiently fleshed out enough?  if so, can you grab that?  that's one of the things holding janetPCF up on building test cases.
16:13 z3p willkg: I thought ben grabbed that one?
16:13 willkg z3p: oh...  you're right.  ok.
16:13 z3p: how about 16285?
16:14 z3p willkg: ooh, that's a new one
16:14 willkg z3p: yeah.  it was filed yesterday, i think.
16:14 z3p willkg:  there are two crashes I'm going to tackle, but I'll make that next
16:14 willkg z3p: ok.  that's cool.  also 16296 is probably an easy fix now.
16:15 z3p deardiary: new plan: #16270, #16271, #16285
16:15 willkg: yeah, that should be easy
16:16 willkg z3p: w00t!  thank you!

16:21 willkg z3p: one other thing.  i'm playing audio items from my external hard drive which is set up as a device.  the list view doesn't indicate which item is playing, though.  in the logs, i see lots of "<miro.itemsource.DeviceItemHandler object at 0xac9814c>: not handling set_is_playing"
16:21 z3p: want me to write up a bug?  is that a sufficient problem statement?
16:22 z3p willkg: yeah, I've got a good idea about what that means
16:22 willkg z3p: ok.  i'll write it up now.

17:16 back in a bit
17:16 ajonas paulproteus: cool
17:17 paulproteus: so those buttons are an intermediate step and will get hidden by our inerface, is that right?

19:10 paulproteus deardiary: Handling a cosmetic issue with using PayPal buttons: http://bugzilla.pculture.org/s[…]_bug.cgi?id=16299
19:11 mattjohnson: Have you ever had to style form submit buttons to look like links? If you're good at it, I could use the help.
19:15 z3p paulproteus: you want  "<button type='submit'>" rather than "<input type='submit'>"

20:15 mattjohnson sweet
20:25 kcw willkg: the print() in util gets really noisy during unit tests
20:26 willkg kcw: oops--i meant to remove that.
20:27 kcw: removed now.  sorry about that.

21:00 paulproteus deardiary: adding a secret to our URLs so that random attackers can't easily cause people to downgrade their sites.
21:01 ajonas paulproteus: that would be such a silly attack
21:01 paulproteus: though i suppose stranger things have happened
21:01 paulproteus I mean, it would have to be targeted, blah blah blah, but we really ought to not be vulnerable. (-:
21:04 ajonas yes not vulnerable is better
21:15 paulproteus Vulnerability fixed.
21:16 Going to change a little text and then deploy
21:16 progress bar: 4 / 10
21:16 ajonas: On /admin/upgrade/ this text: "    <p>All <strong>new</strong> monthly subscribers get a <strong>free 30 day</strong> trial.</p> " -- okay if I make only show if you have a free trial available?

22:17 kcw janetPCF1: do you have a file that can reproduce the DRM'd file problems in #15452?
22:33 janetPCF1 I do
22:34 it's about 50Mb
22:34 kcw: ^^
22:36 kcw janetPCF1: the first MB is probably enough - if you have dd: 'dd if=filename of=outputname bs=1M count=1', but if you can only access the file from windows I don't think there's a way to do that
22:37 janetPCF1 actually - i found a 2.4 or so MB file from the same collection
22:37 kcw oh, fantastic. Could you attach that to the bug or email it to me?
22:37 janetPCF1 I can put it in my dropbox - if that would be easy - although I'm not sure why it's so small
22:37 kcw that works too
22:43 janetPCF1 kaz - sent it to you in an email
23:01 maggie_s joined #miro-hackers
23:19 kcw janetPCF1: thanks - I've implemented detection for that kind of drm. Do you have any drm'd audio? Or can iTunes convert a protected video to protected audio?
23:23 nevermind that, it seems iTunes hasn't drm'd most audio for a couple of years, and audio that is locked can be recognized by its extension
